Well this weekend was just a blast. I arrived at my friends place at 8:30pm or so. We talked a little bit and then decided to go out. I wan't complaining since I hadn't had anything to eat for dinner yet. A trip to Dave & Busters was decided upon. The food was decent, but a tad over priced. Par for the course actually. We then engaged in a massive steak of video game playing. Highlighting the night was the games in the Battletech simulators. They had just upgraded their system with new mechs, new areas, and a few tweaks to existing mechs. I did fairly well in an Uller, considering the fact that everyone else in the game at that time out massed me by 15tons at the least. It was a great night.
The next day we all got off to a late start. Went to a Coney place for breakfast, then headed out to help move some more friends of mine. Since we had gotten there late there wasn't much left to pick up and move out of their apartment. Since we had good amount of people moving items it went quickly. The drive to the house was short. We finished unloading the last bits and settled in for a long lunch/dinner recovery gathering. After playing some vicious hands of Uno, we left the very tired couple to settle into their new house. But not before cataloging all the hornet and wasp hives they have around the house.
The couple I was staying with and I headed back to their place. After lounging around for a time we decided to head back to Dave & Busters for more action packed Battletech. The first sim was relatively tame, the second one was where it got a little nasty. I was piloting a Ryoken, Bunny a Atlas, and Rattlesnake a Shadowcat. The other group was in their assorted assualt and heavy mechs. Some how I became a large target for their forces. It was fun watching their assaults run directly at me firing all available weapons. I'm just glad they couldn't aim worth a damn. I was charged 4 times. All four times I killed the assualt or heavy mech after me. Of course I died in their explosive deaths. But I had my revenge. I earned 2nd place. In fact our small group took the podium. Rattlesnake took 3rd. Bunny in her alpha striking Atlas took 1st. Needless to say the other group of 4 were a little pissed off. It was a simple game of attrition so no real teams were set up, but damn did we smoke them.
After that the night was pretty much over. We headed back pretty exhausted. We putted around for a bit then headed off to bed. The next morning was pretty low key. I was out the door by 9am and was back by 1pm. While it normally doesn't take that long a few construction woes plagued me. As an added bonus I was told of a few jobs that are open in the area, which I'm considering applying for. So I'm putting a large stamp of approval on the whole weekend.
